Welcome Gordon

Born in Ottawa and raised in Austin, Texas, Gordon Milne is studying a Bachelor of Commerce in Economics and Finance at McGill University. To complement his studies, he is President of the McGill Students’ Trading Society. He is also closely involved with the International Relations Students Association of McGill University. His love of economics was sparked by the popular book Freakonomics by Steven Levitt and Stephen Dubner. In his spare time, he enjoys playing hockey and trail-running, and is an avid Ottawa Senators fan.

Summer 2016 Edition

The CSBR team is delighted to present the Summer 2016 Edition of the Canadian Student Economic Journal. Our articles include a novel look at unemployment forecasting, an examination of the free market in Prisoner of War camps, a comparison between the American and British responses to the Great Depression as well as a study of risk in the insurance industry. In keeping with the focus of security in the American election today, our interview is with Mr. Jonathan E. Lewis - a published author and Chief Investment Officer with experience in the intelligence community.

The Canadian Student Business Review is thrilled to announce that Lloyd Lyall has joined the CSBR team as a Senior Writer. Originally from Vancouver, Lloyd is currently studying Economics and International Relations at Stanford University in California. Over the past three years he has debated for the Canadian national team in nine different countries, and he was part of the squad that finished world runners-up this past summer in Singapore.

Jason is currently in his first year of studies at the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia, but will begin his studies at Oxford University’s Faculty of Law this coming October.
